Subject: noise underneath IP: Logged
Message: hey everyone, I appreciate being able to write to people about troubles with my truck. In addition to common brake pulsing which apparently everyone is suffering from, I have begun hearing a strange sort of friction grinding from underneath towards the back when I accelerate from a stop while turning. It continues this noise for a couple seconds then kind of works itself out. This noise is especially bad in parking lots where stops and low speed turns are most common. Can anyone help?

Message: I had the same problem. I took the truck to the dealer along with another noise from the front. I've got 35K miles so the warranty is about gone! Anyway, the dealer claimed the lubricant in the rear differential was low and they added more. It seems to have fixed the problem, but in all honesty I haven't driven the truck that much since the repair. The front noise, by the way, was a spring that came loose on the right front caliper...I'm not sure specifically what they were referring to. Anyway, I say check the fluid level in the rear diff. (I have a 4x2 with limited-slip...)
