I have a 2002 dodge dakota xcab. Went to dealership to get ball joints replaced about a month ago. When i got them replaced i heard a clunking noise in the suspension. After they were replaced never heard it for a month. Now it is back. I think there could be more to it that just the ball joints

yea, i had that same thing. i have a 02 2wd cc and i got balljoints replaced under warranty before the recall, the clunking went away for a while then came back. i took my truck in again and was told that my rear brakes were so out of adjustment that i could feel some crap through the wheel from them. well that did help some of the clunking, but i still think these bjs are bad again

1999 Durango 135,850+ miles. First I've heard of issue. Went for alignment and was advised to get ball joints replaced. Been wearing tires more recently but handling, tracking, and ride have been great since new. Use truck for snow, towing, and light/moderate trail rides (need a winch a few times due to low clearance of skids). Sorry to see so many sad stories, love my truck!
