Subject: Recalls... IP: Logged
Message: Got a quick question. If there are recalls listed under alldata.com for my truck, why doesn't the dealer take care of them when I bring it in for service. I have told them that there might be a recall on my 2000 4.7 CC SLT but they return the truck saying there isn't one for it.What gives?? Does the VIN of my truck specifically state if the recall applies to my specific truck?? Thanks.

Message: Agree re: the VIN, it will give specific info about your truck and if any open recalls/TSBs apply
Last night I dropped my truck off at the dealers for MIL 0422 and 0455 (Evaporative System leak) and rough shifting with the 45RFE auto tranny.
At no time when the service desk was writting up the order, did they mention there were active TSBs on these problems
I saw those TSBs today at alldata.com and called the service desk as a f.y.i. and they got pissed saying they know how to check for TSBs and not all TSBs apply to every truck (these do, they are specific for the 4.7)
They even got more upset when I said I want all TSBs open for my truck to be taken care of.
My truck was built 4/12/01, there are currently 13 TSBs open, one or two may not apply, but pending their attitude when they call to say the work is done or have any questions, I may demand that all be taken care of (ex: Outside Rearview Mirror Glass - replace)
