Subject: Squeaky front end IP: Logged
Message: I have had a squeak coming from my front end getting slowly worse for the last 15000 kms, from what I read on this site I figure ball joints, as I have 101,000 kms or about 62000 mi on the truck.I take it to a mech and he shows me the noise is coming from my tie rod ends, and he says my ball joints are fine.It was obvious he was right as you can feel the grinding in the tie rod end. I know this is different to what everybody else is experiencing. Are there Moog tie rod ends with grease nipples?Anybody know a Canadian source?

Message: Yeah, I have the same noise from the front end of my 2000 Dakota Sport QC 4x4. The sound is like a squeaky suspension.
I've even had both upper control arms replaced (warranty) and that was only 8,000 kms ago and still have the same noise. It is frustrating!

Message: Does the squeak sound like its coming from under the dash? Try spraying your steering column U-joints with WD-40 (under the hood). See if that helps.
