I have a 2000 Quadcab that has an oil leak, just a drip or two, that comes and goes. Do I take a chance of taken it to the dealer and hope that he doesn't make any worse or do I leave it along. It seems to be around the front lower end of the motor. Around the harmonic balancer area. Any body else have that same oil leak problem. Thanks for any info. AL

I had the same oil leak with my 2000 5.9L QC 4x4. The dealer replaced the crank seal, and it is fine now. Have you got under the truck and looked where the crank seal is? Mine was covered in oil. It never leaked on the ground, but the entire lower half of the front cover was soaked.

I too had the leak. It was from the front timing cover crank seal.
