Message:
My drive gear and bushing in my 3.9 liter motor has worn out. my mechanic says that i need an oversized drive gear and bushing.he looked but couldn't find one , but he knew they used to make them because he has replaced them before. Does anyone know where i can find one or what i can do?If i can't find one he says i will have to replace my motor.

My '92 3.9 Dakota was in the shop after crapping out on the freeway - broken distributor rotor. The mechanic also recommended replacing the distributor gear and bushing - for $350.00!! This is beginning to sound like a common problem, so there must be a common fix somewhere... Aftermarket distributor, perhaps?

me $400 canadian to get fixed,i drove it for
4 days and started acting up again by back-
firing thru the exhaust,as if it jumped time.
they said drive a couple more days or will
have to look at it some more at $65.00/hr labour
the original gear drive was worn bad,i wonder if
