Message: '01 QC SLT.7000 mi. At 5000 miles my front trans pump seal started to leak. I've arranged several appts. at the dealer because at every appt. they still don't have the parts. It has taken this long to get parts to repair it and the leak is getting worse. I just keep it at the safe level with the ATF+4 that the dealer gave me until they fix it. I am getting really tired of steering alignments, recalls, and this tranny leak. Dodge really did poor quality control on their new dakotas.

Message: Nathan; I've got the same problem I found out today from the dealer. New seal will be in Monday. Apparently this is a redesign from the original. Call your dealer back I bet they can get it now or have it in stock. I believe there will be a TSB coming out on this. My dealer says this is the 4th truck this month that has had the same exact problem.

Message: Oops, not the front pump seal. They replaced the transfer case output seals and they are a redesign from Jan/Feb 01 when my truck was built.
