Subject: RE: Intermittent Pulsation ??!?! IP: Logged
Message: I bought a 2005 Dakota in late Sept. Immediatley I experianced pulsating when the brakes were applied. First time they said they turned a rotor. Second time I brought in they said there is a factory problem and awaiting a Service buitton release from Dodge. Tomorrow I am bring my truck in as the dealer know has replacement parts to install. Check out you dealer as my service manager called it a recall. I'll let you know if it's fixed or not.

Message: I had my '02 QC to the dealer 4 times in the first year and a half I had my truck for pulsating brakes. After putting up with all the hassle during that first year and a half, I changed the rotors and pads to the cheapest AutoZone had ($11 per rotor and $9 for all 4 pads). I've put 50,000 miles on the 'CHEAP' parts with no problems at all.

Message: You stated intermittant pulsing > Don't think nobody addressed this as sush but rather as just pulsing > Just incase you did mean intermitant, that does happen sort of > If both rotors are worped, as you take turns the two change posistion > The worp can be in the same posistion on both rotors when applied and at this time vibration is less > When they are posistioned as to pass the worp through the pads at a differant time, viberation becomes faster > Say your going down a winding mountain pass and taking a long sweeping curve with brakes applied > You can experience the pulses changing as the worps turn at differant speeds > Nothing weird about this > Just explaining intermittant in case this was the actual question
So many problem > So little time

Message: I have a 2006 4 door Dakota with 110,000 miles. When I bought it 3 weeks ago, there was some pulsation when braking in the sterring wheel. Got new rotors and pads in the front, new drums ONLY in the back. Now intermittent pulsing under hard braking. Like the back end of the truck is bouncing around a little or really heavy vibration. Not all the time but more frequent under harder braking. Also, just cruising straight line, smooth road, constant speed there is a slight vibration like I am driving on a rough road, more of a harmonic vibration or slight bouncing. Mechanic is clueless, drums and rotors have been check on CNC and are almost perfect. New Tires 1 day prior to brake work. Tires are slightly taller and are all terrains. Anyone? Beuhler? Beuhler? Please HELP!!!
