Message: There is a safety recall on the 2000 to 2001 Dakota Quad Cabs. The lower front seat belt anchors may not been properly tightened. Simply contact your dealer right away and they should be able to correct this.

Message: Valerie, A couple of weeks ago or so Sandman posted a note here about this recall. Please read my reply then to him. Oh, Valerie thanks for your post here as I am sure it will be helpful to others that are not aware of the recall. I still have not received a recall notice. DO READ BELOW..
"Thank you Sandman!
Saw you report here that you received a recall notice from Dodge in regard to loose seat belt
mounting bolts. Anyway, I just went out and checked the belt anchor bolts on my '01 Quad Cab manufactured during the first week of May '01 and sure enough the driver side anchor bolt that anchors the bottom part of the belt was in fact loose as heck... basically it was only finger tight. Anyway, all the other anchor bolts were tight. I just tightened up the loose one. Curious did the recall notice (I did not get one yet) say front anchors, all anchors or what? "

Message: I saw on the National News a short report about Dodge Dakota Quad cabs having trouble with ball joints. Have the Chrysler people started a recall on this item? No other information was put out.

I am going to call the Chrysler dealer where I bought my truck and ask them point blank if there is going to be a recall on the balljoints.

Message: Has anyone heard of a recall on the locks for a 2000 Dakota? After going 15 mph, they make a funny noise and lock, then when I want to unlock them using the remote, only the drivers' side unlocks.

Message: Hey, Capt. Kirk,
Look on your drivers armrest, you may have some button pushed that diables it, the pass. door I mean.
IF YOU WOULD READ YOUR OWNERS MANUAL, IT TELLS YOU HOW TO DISABLE THE 'SAFETY FEATURE' THAT LOCKS THE DOORS AT 15MPH!
Why are you so illogical?

Message: First of all, thanks for replying. Second of all, loose the attitude. It's not even my car, I told a friend I would see if I could find out any info, therefor did not look in the owner's manual. It is not even about the doors locking at 15 mph, it is about the noise and the door not unlocking with the remote.

Message: on the remote only unlocking the drivers door,
when you push the unlock button, push it a second time and all other doors will unlock.
Its the way someone has programed the remote, thats the way I have mine, I dont wat the other doors to unlock so that when my childern are in the truck someone couldnt open their door.
Hopes this helps

How about problems with the power window motors? Had my share of that.

Message: I have a 2001 Dakota Quad Cab. I have a issue with my lights coming not on. I have to set and wait for up to five minutes before head lights will actually light up. I thought it was related to wiring recall that came out last fall. I took it in and was told it was related to a faulty central timing module. Has anyone else run into this?

Message: I'm glad to here about the ball joints. my 2001 4x4 quad 5 spd. makes a bumping sound on thr left side when i back out or turn into my driveway. I too had trouble with the head lights and the radio and dash lights. the dealer couldn't find it. It stopped when i took it in for a wireing recall. I still have trouble with it surging at very low speeds. i've even gone to binding arbatration, but i did't want to sell it back on a pro-rated basis.
i also have a heavy duty sway bar for sale. I took it out of my sons truck before he sold it. $50 this is 1/3 the cost of a new one. the difference is like night & day.
