Message: Not having much to compare it with, I am a fan of the JL 10W6 that I have had for about 4 years now. I constantly have about 400+ RMS going to it, and have had no problems. It seems to have alot better range than other subs I have owned, although it isn't the loudest for the money.
I would take a 12 if I could spare the room.

Message: I'd go for the image dynamics also, best sound reproduction. If your willing to give up some quality for volume the JL is a great choice.

Message: Define "best". If a sub sounds great but needs a ton of air space then what good is it for regular cab owners? Best depends on your ear, budget and listen habits. For me that's Kicker.

Message: What exactly are you asking for? The best SQ the best SPL? And image dynamics isn't a sub it's a brand are you refering to IDQ's, ID max, ID SPL's? How much room do you have how much power. If power or space aren't concerns I'd look at a DD 9500, Treo CSX, mmats jugg, or a Resonant engineering XXX.

Message: I'm going to take the back seat out and I'm going to build my own enclosure to house 2 10 inch subs. Sorry about this confusion. I should have explained myself better. I'll probably look at the sub with the better SQ, so if you have any more suggestions, just post them.

Message: Does it have to be two 10's if you are taking your whole back seat out? Even 12's seem to be able to get a great deal louder on lower frequencies. If you are getting 10's for SQ, don't believe that garbage. Go with whatever size you like.
For overall SQ and SPL, I recommend the Shiva (12") or Brahma 10" for a little more money. Both are from www.adireaudio.com
I am only recommending these from experience. Other subs I have heard that are nice sounding are.....
W3's
Alpine Type R's

Message: If you want a real good sounding sub that also hits really hard when you push it, go with the Alpine R series. These things handle a lot more than they're rated, and I can guarantee that you wont be disapointed. Any of the Alpine subs are pretty good. Another good one is the Infinity Kappa Perfect, if you can aford the cost. Ive got the 12's and i love them.

Message: I think your best bet is to always listen for yourself. Im not an SPL guy. Thats for competitions. For listening Sound Q here are my preferences.
MMatts I hear are pretty good. I only have an amp though. Its nice. 804 watts in a 10x10" size.
JL-cant go wrong with these guys
Infinity Kappa Perfects- inherently deep, Great sound Q, very efficient. They even make good subs for the house! My friend had a little homemade project that turned out to beat velodyne.
Image Dynamics- similar to the sound of JL
a/d/s- not popular but very nice. check out some reviews on these. No dissatisfied people there.
Eclipse-these are just insane.
Earthquake- These are just insane as well. Good for spl.
