Subject: Factory Infinity speakers question

Message:
Ok, I heard that if u have the Infinity Sound system in ur truck that you can only replace the speakers with Infinity ones and if u replace them with aftermarket ones (sony, pioneer, etc) they will not work correctly b/c they have an inline amp??... Im no audio expert, so help would be greatly appreciated.

I have two sets of Pioneer 3-way 61/2s sitting on my dresser and want to install them but since i just heard about this today, i want to know the real answer.

thanks

Un that dont sound right. Just plug them in and play. If you have an aftermarket head unit that runs power then just disconect the fact amp and run jumpers from the conecters, that is what i did, so I did not cut the wires yet. But they should just plug right in, just use the Wolfer lines. If your going to keep the Tweter leave it alone, if your going to diconect the Tweeter then jsut disconect it, I just left the wires in there.
THe ampe is easy to get to. It is in the pasanger Kick panal, just slowly pull it out. the only clips holding it in are right by the edge of the door, use a screw drive and gently pry it out. then look up ther and there is the amp. helt in by on bult. If you have any other questoins i would be glad to help. I have jsut now almost finneshed up puting in my new sterio
