Hey-
I've decided to pick up some stereo stuff, and I just wanted some input on my selections. They are: Memphis 16-St500 mono amp, Alpine CDA-7894 MP3/CD player, unloaded Thunderform + not sure which subs yet, I was thinking either Kicker comp or Image Dynamics IDQ. Any suggestions? Thanks.

If you get an unloaded thunderform, make sure you get it first before getting subs. That way you can make sure the sub will fit the box (magnet is not too big). The new idq's have too big of magnets so if you go with them, get the older ones.

Thanks for the info dodgeee-O. I'm thinking I may just get the loaded thunderform to save money and all the effort. I'm going to go out to Circuit City today and have them put a 10" MTX Thunder6000 speaker in so I can hear it myself. As for the amp, I was looking at the specs for the Memphis, and it has a THD of .5% at 4 ohm....this is horrible isn't it? My other choice was a JL Audio 500/1 which only has .05% at 4 ohm. This is a huge difference, and I would like the better sound quality of the two. Any suggestions? Thanks.

pick up a Phenoix Gold or the new alpine line has mono amps. Whatever you do STAY AWAY from sony. It is the biggest pos since they dropped the whole es line
