Message: I own a 88 3.9L dakota reg cab 4x4 std. I have a DEH 6400 pioneer deck with a rockford 150s amp that powers 2 MTX thunder 6000 in a sealed box,my amp is bridged so it puts out 300watts but the subs are rated for 250watts max each and the amp gets pretty hot, I was wondering what I should have the gain at or is that amp just to small. and what do you think are better MTX thunder6000 subs or Rockford Fosgate Hz2's.thanx

Message: A 50 watt amp can be hooked to 2000 watt subs as long as the ohm ratings are not exceeded on the amplifier. You probably have your 6000's wired in parallel presenting a 2 ohm load to the amp (if you have 4 ohm subs).
This is why it is getting hot.
HX2's will hit a LOT harder than the MTX's.
Thats just a guess on the amp wiring though
