Subject: Best Prac for grouning amps? IP: Logged
Message: OK I have two amps I want to ground off of my grounding block. (4 gauge in and 2/8 gauge out). Where is the best place to ground the 4 gauge wire. In the past I have grounded it to the frame but I was wondering if running it to the battery would be the best spot. I have enough cable but is is worth the hassle?

Message: Worth the hassle? no -actually it is not a good idea to make the ground any longer then a foot or two.
What I did was remove the back side panel and there is an entire sheet of metal that you can get to both sides at. Remove the paint where you will be ground to, drill a hole, and use a medium size bolt and lock washer combo. This will yield you a very strong connection and a good ground.
