Message: Racerdy,
I ran in to the same problem as you. I have a club cab and wanted a changer, but didn't know where to put it. I went to a guy I know that works at a custom audio shop and he said the smallest changer they carried wouldn't work under the rear seat even if I wanted it to (unless I cut out all the storage bins). I wouldn't have been able to change the cds or have enough air flow around it. THe only place he told me I could put it was to stand it up right behind my passenger seat. I didn't do it because I didn't want somebody who was sitting back there to hit it with there feet, even though I very rarely have someone back there. I ended up getting a factory head unit withe the cd player from a guy on this board for only 100 bucks! Good luck

Message: In a previous live (as a car owner) I had a changer instead of an in-dash player. HATED the changer. It never seemed to have the CD I wanted to listen too. One would think out of 10 cd's in the changer one would be the right one - think again.
In today's world of burning our own CD's I'm finding my in-dash player to be perfect.

Message: With at little work, you can mount a changer in the
armrest console. I put a Sony 10 CD changer in mine
and I love it. The only drawback is losing the storage.

Message: I thought about that to Tim, but like you said you lose all your storage space and I really keep a lot of important stuff in there so I didn't want to go that route. I love my in-dash player that I have now, great for what I use it for.

Message: I mounted mine right behind the drivers seat on the cab side standing straight up...it fit fine there and was easy to run the cables under the door trim piece. This location does not interfere with any passenger sitting there either, and if you mount it flush enough and the thickness of the unit is normal size you will not lose the use of under seat storage in back.
