They could be blown. I have blown many of many speakers and each of them never sounded the same as for being blown. It was always a different noise. I would take u panels off and hand check the speakers.

Is it just making a little pop/thud sound or is it making a scratchy crackly sound? A pop/thud sound could just be it bottoming out and distorting a crackle/scratch could be a blown speaker
