I thought it would be impossible, but I fit a JL audio 10w6 that I had from my previous truck behind the smaller drivers side rear seat. I used 1/2 particle board. Since I knew space would be a problem, I just built the biggest box I thought would fit. If you take the seat out you will be able to understand the following:

behind the seat the back wall has two sections, the left side is raised up slightly over the right. for the right, i cut a piece 10x15, and left, a piece 15x5. I overlapped the two about half an inch to fit the contour of the wall. The bottom edge outside of the box was 7". The top was 3.5. The JL 10 with the huge magnet just fit into the bottom section of the box. The port barely fit above it.

The box is smaller than recommended (obviously), but it doesnt sound too bad. It just doesnt hit as low. It is nice to have bass though, and not have something that is visible.

1/2" Particle Board? I can see it working for some small midbass, but two high power subs? It seems like it would rattle. Did you tune it to spec, or just put pipes in it?

I knew going in nothing would be to spec. I would need a 1 cf. box for it to be to spec, with something like a 15 inch port, neither would fit. I just did the best I could. I figured that since it was ported, there would not be as much pressure against the wood, and 1/2 inch would work. The box was also small, so problems with it flexing wouldnt be that big of a deal. It did seem fairly sturdy when I was done. If I was buying a new sub, I would have gone for an 8. I had the 10, and didnt want to spend any more money, so I wedged it back there. I would say a 10 in the wrong box sounds as good as an 8 in the proper box, if not better. Does it hit hard, no, but does it sound better than without, definitely.
