Subject: Blue Remote Turn-On Wire IP: Logged
Message: This blue remote-amp turn-one wire, where exactly would I find it on my '99 CC Dak w/ Infinity system? I found the amp behind the passenger kick panel, but there are SEVERAL blue wires and they all have stripes. Is it one of these (which?) or does this blue turn-one wire only come from the head unit (in which case, where else would it go other than the stock remote amp?)
Thanks
Johnny B

Message: The wire isn't blue........I believe that it is green with a red stripe. If you have a multimeter, hook the neg to ground and the pos to the wire.....find the wire that has 12volts dc when the radio is turned on. Or call the dealer.
Good luck!

Message: Thanks silverD! That was the one, green w/ red stripe going into the factory Infinity amp behind the passenger kick-panel. Now I can jam to my new T-form!

Message: Your JVC head unit should have a wire for remote turn-on, sometimes shown as a power antenna trigger signal. Check the wiring diagram in the owners manual for a connection to a power antenna (not the coax).

Message: power antenna may not be a good idea, most radios only feed that wire with power when the RADIO is on. in other words, the amp won't work when you're listening to a cd.
best bet (if you can't find your remote wire) is to just jump off the ACC.

Message: True. Another alternative is to use a signal-sensing trigger box that will deliver the remote power when it senses signal on either speaker or line level inputs. I can't remember what co. makes them, but they do exist.

Message: If I was going thru the trouble of installing an amp I'd just get a half-way decent aftermarket radio as well.
But if your not... then jumping off the radio fuse in the fuse box will work. Look for "piggyback" connector at auto parts store that is designed for this purpose.
http://www.davidnavone.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=N-902 is what JohnnyBzCCRT is talking about. It senses a "live" speaker (IE: one that is getting power from a radio) and provides a +12V signal to turn on an amp. Pretty trick huh? :)
