Is JBL good? yes
There mono sub amps have had several good reviews, they are a no frills amp that will perform as stated on the box.

Great Amps for the money. I have the JBL1200. They are actually a little underrated. The 1200 puts out more like 1400 watts.

Yes, JBL is awesome. I have a JBL amp and mine kicks booty! If you get a JBL amp, JBL amps complement their subs really really well.

Great amps, I have owned the 300.1 and am using the 1200.1 and they put out tons of clean power, but one thing to consider is they dont have very good crossovers, I would suggest getting a good external one,but you cant go wrong for the money 1200+ watts for under $280
