Subject: help reinstalling factory cd player IP: Logged
Message: I had a factory tape deck in my truck when i bought it. I then installed a Jensen cd player which recently broke. I just bought a factory CD player from a 2001 dodge dakota (I have a 2000 dak) My problem is that the idiot that installed my Jensen, removed the factory wiring harness. I have the Jensen harness which obviously doesnt match the factory cd player. Any help would be greatly needed thanks. I know some of you are wondering why i went to a factory cd player is because factory units dont skip. i allready have 4 6.5 MB Quartz, 4x75 alpine amp and a 10in rf punch in a bandpass box with its own amp. Where can I get the factory harness for a 2001 cd player. thanks !!

Message: why don;t u find another old 2000 dakota snd rip the factory harness out of that one and splice it into the one you have..
Match the colors up and use a Volt-Meter to check B4 you plug the radio in.
I had to do that to a friends BMW. Didn't make wire harnness for it and had to "hard wire it in"
WHat a pain in the A$$ and 6 hr's it was in.
Hope it helps

Message: The 2001 factory headunit has rounded corners. The 2000 has square corners. It definately won't be a factory fit. Like the above posters I'd highly recommend an aftermarket unit.
