Subject: The Flat Subs are here! IP: Logged
Message: Blaupunkt has finally released the flat sub (4" tall), so you can mount a 12" subwoofer behind your RC seats with out problems. It still requires .5 - 1 cubic feet of airspace(enclosure) but with only 4" of mounting debth you should overcome the typical problems of installing large subs in small places. The are running approx. $250 each right now but I expect the prices will drop later on. There is an article in Mobile Entertainment magazine on the new sub.

Hey R/Truck, I have a Reg. Cab and have been thinking about these since I first heard they were coming out. Where can I get some specs on these subs, they aren't on Blaupunkt's website yet. Also what kind of box do you suggest using???

Message: Well I have the magazine article at home but they tested it in a 1 cubic foot box with a 5000 watt amp (yes 5000 watts) inside a corvette. It got good reviews, they said it sounded great. Max spl was around 121dB which isn't great but very good for that type of subwoofer. But with 4" of mounting debth you could really make some creative boxes for the installation. Checked www.m-emag.com but they are not showing the latest issue yet, that is who tested the sub. I will try and bring that magazine to the office so I can give you the details.

Message: specs: Blaupunkt 12 inch saucer sub ODwp1200
$350
Mounting Debth 2 1/4 inch
Frequency Response: 45-160hz +/- 2dB
Maximum SPL: 120.0 dB
Xmax: 7.6mm
Sensitivity: 86.9dB with 2.83 volts
Recommended eclosure size is .5 - 1.5 cubic feet, either sealed or ported.
If you want to put a 12 inch sub in a tight space like you spare tire well, front door, under a seat, or in a rear storage compartment this is your best option.

Message: How many 10in. subs can you fit in a Regular Cab Dak.???? Right now I have one 10in. Rockford Fosgate, and a 200watt amp. The reason why I'm asking this is.... I got two more 10in. subs from a friend, they're kinda old, but they hit hard as hell at only 60 watts. (MTX's,.. Road Thunder Series) I want to put both of them along with my ROCK F. in the middle some how. Does anyone think I could fit 3 10in. Subs in a Regular Cab,.. Cause I think I'm gunna get crazy and start doin stuff. Tell me what you guys think... I REALLY want EVERYONE'S input. Thanks a lot yall.

Message: pimpdaddy don..
how many subs do you have. IT would take a lot of them to make it loud, because rockford fosgate makes cheap ass subs. If you had 4 it would be loud, but he quality of sound would be sh*t. And if the box behind your seat in those pictures is what you call pleasing to the eye, then you are dumb, because those boxes look like sh*t too.

its all a matter of opinion, it may look like @$$ to us, but to him it works. As for me, i have a box thats built but not finished - it holds 4 8" Kicker Solobaric L7s and with just 2 it sounds cool as hell... i cant wait to get my second pair...
