 Subject: Steering wheel controls

I just picked up my new 2002 Quad cab , and the
one option I wanted was the radio controls on the steering wheel , but of course this was not on my
truck.
Is there anyway I can add one ??
I have the CD/Cassette /AM/FM stereo

If you really wanted to add the controls, your best bet would be to find a wrecked donor truck with that option. You would need the head unit (the most expensive radio option Dodge offered on the Dakota), as well as the steering wheel controls themselves. Otherwise, you could put in an aftermarket head unit with wireless remote. There are a number of models offered by different manufacturers. I've never heard of an aftermarket remote that was meant to work with a factory head unit, just aftermarket head units that can be tied into the factory steering wheel controls.

I've had the same question for a few weeks. Along with the steering wheel, are there any cables /wires/etc, that I neet to make this work? I already have the highend deck out of another wreck, a steering wheel with controllers, but I cant figure it out. I wanted to know what is inside my existing steering before I started removing the airbag, etc.

Ask your dealer. They might be able to figure out what you'll need. You'll probably need a new steering wheel... maybe a little wiring if the non-equipped trucks don't have it.

No you wouldn't. All Chrysler head units accept bus commands from the controller.

i was on a web site that had a product that you are able to add Steering wheel controls to a aftermarket radio. i think it was at theinstallationshop.com . i think that will help you out. good luck!
