Subject: Amp IP: Logged
Message: I just got the loaded MTX Thunderform for my 99 CC and I need to get an amp.
I do not know much about stereo systems and I want to know what a good amp would be for this set up.
I have the upgraded Infinity speakers with a Kenwood CD head unit. All I need is an amp to complete my system. All I want is something that will sound good produce enough power for everything.
Thanks.

Message: I have heard good things about the MTX mono sub amps. They are relatively inexspensive and don't draw as much current as most others.

Message: You could use a 4 channel amp with two channels bridged for the subs, or go with 2 amps. I have the MTX 6500D and it will power anything you throw at it. Since you have a simple system maybe you should look into using one amp to power all your speakers. Like a 4 channel or 3 channel amp.

Message: Ok, a few more questions to help me out.
What watt, ohm, and how many channels do I need for my amp?
Im pretty sure that the 8 speaker systems that are in our trucks already have an amp to power the speakers. So I think all I need is one to power the subs. Correct me if Im wrong.
And any other stuff that Ive left out let me know.
Im not look to spend a great deal, just something that will work.
Thanks.

Message: If you are going to push just the subs and not include the speaker..go with a amp that you can bridge mono. This will sound great.
If you are going to power the speakers also, go with two seperate amps or get a four channel amp and use two channels to your speakers and bridge the other two channels mono for your subs..gonna sound good.. Stay away from sony, they can't handle it and cut out often...(talking from experience) Pheonix gold makes a good amp..
