yes there are ways around all of them. the kenwood you run one wire to 12v and another to ground. i dont remember colors, but 12v would be foot brake and ground would be parking brake. alpine you have to put in 2 switches one momentary and one regular switch. pioneer i dont remember exactly. in most states it is illegal for full motion video to be in the view of the driver though.

The kenwoods require the green wire to be grounded. That's it. Piece of cake install. Just time consuming.

Good luck,

WHEN YOU MOUNT THE WIRE TO THE PARKING BRAKE YOU CAN CLICK THE BRAKE IN 1 CLICK AND THE TV WILL BE ON AND YOU CAN DRIVE LIKE THAT

Why don't you people THINK for a second?

If you want to kill yourself or wreck your truck by watching movies while driving, that is fine, just don't do it on any road with other people around.

I'm no safety nut (auto racing license w/SCCA and other nat'l clubs, rock climber, etc.), but rigging your in-dash DVD player to play while driving is just plain STUPID. Please THINK for a second and then spend your time and money on something worthwhile, or put it in the back seat where the kids cna see it and you can't.

its the same for the pioneer, the green wire just needs to be grounded! very easy, especially since the brain box is not in the dash! Just ground it with the other black ground wire! I agree that watching TV while driving is not safe but when on a long trip and you have MORE THAN ONE PERSON DRIVING, it should be alright! just use common sense! just my opinion!

Nice one gbas, your stupidity made the news. So did you ever get that DVD player installed? How long did it take before you smashed it up?

I have a panasonic dvd in my quad cab. Like a few of the others you just ground the i believe its blue w/ yellow stripe wire that is supposed to go to the parking break with a normal ground. I really like my panasonic. I also like the kenwoods but i couldnt beat the price i got my panasonic for. The panasonic screen can be turned to the left or the right for driver or passanger viewing. The panasonic plays dvd, mp3, vcd, cd-r, cd-rw and so on. It also has a tv tuner so you can get your local channels and has 2 inputs for whatever you want, i have my playstation 2 hooked up. For the price nothin else comes close.

BlackDak20 and gbas - maybe the two of you can have a head on collision while gbas is watching his dvd and Blackdak is playing with himself, er his playstation. At least the rest of us would be safer without you two morons on the road.

Thanks pete. This is by no means for my own entertainment while driving. While most think it is whatever. All i wanted to know is if it would be possible to have it play while the veichle is in motion so the passengers can enjoy. The reason i would put it in the middle is so i can also enjoy it while camping and what not. While most would object to having it on anwer this: Have you ever talked on your cellphone while driving, ate your lunch, or at 1 point in time did not pay attention 100% then you can criticise!

In dash tv along with in dash cd player
IP: Logged

Message:
hey guys, listen I just bought an in dash tv, along with an new lcd cd player. I would like both of them to be put in my dash right on top of each other. I have a 2003 stampeed, and I would like to take out the stock cd player and custom the dash so that I have the in dash tv on top, and on the bottom will be the new cd player, and than just right under that will be the climate controls (just for a visual picture). Is there any type of dash kit I can buy to have two things in my dash at one time in the space of the old cd player, or am I going to have to creat a cuctom dash by myself. And if so, does any one have any suggestion as two how I even go about putting an in dash tv on top of an cd player, in an dakota. Hopefully some one can help me becasue I think that this would just look sweet.

I have a phase linear that I thought would work to just run it with the ground but it didn't turn out to work any ideas, not thought about the toggle is that a possibility.
