if i got a 10" solo-baric dual voice coil 4 ohms subwoofer, what specifications should i look for in my amp? also, how big is the magnet is terms of length and width if anyone knows?

Well if you going to buy a single DVC 4-ohm sub then you will need an amp that can handle a 2ohm mono load. Otherwise you will not get much power out of the 8 ohm load (with that sub you will get a 2 or 8 ohm load) Other then that just make sure you get enough power to it, at least 200 watts.
