Subject: Enough Power for L5s? IP: Logged
Message: Hi all-
I was thinking of buying the new kicker truck boxes for my 1997 Dodge Dakota Regular Cab. Its the TS10L5s (two boxes total; one behind each of my bucket seats). The specs for the TS10L5 says that they are 4ohm and and that the Power Handling in watts is 450.
So here is my problem, I just installed a 4-channel amplifier that has the front two channels to my component set and the rears free for the subs. I think the rear channels bridged will give off a little more than 250 watts (so like 125 watts to each sub). Is that even going to sound good going to the two Kicker TS10L5s? I am just looking for SQ subs, no comp. winnings, but I want them to still hit nice.
What do you think. Here's the specs for the amp I have:
Eclipse 32440
200W x 4 Channel Max. Power Output at 2ohm Stereo
120W x 4 Channel 0.1% THD at 2 Stereo, 20-20,000Hz@13.8V (RMS Continuous Power)
85W x 4 Channel 0.1% THD at 4 Stereo, 20-20,000Hz@13.8V (RMS Continuous Power)
Is the two rear channels bridged going to be enough power for the two 10" Kicker L5s in their truck boxes (TS10L5)??? Or are they going to sound bad with that amount of power?
THanks for the help in advance.
