There is a large conduit of wires that passes just to the left of the steering column inside the passenger cab (i.e. looking up from driver's floorboard). It's hard to miss, although from the inside a small piece of insulation may be covering it up. I took out the plastic trim on the door runners (piece where you put your foot flat entering/exiting the truck), the top and bottom rear trim pieces, the rear seat back, and the tool tray (to install the Thunderform). I ran the wire along the very edge of the compartment, under the driver's rear floor, and behind the carpeting and under the Thunderform. It comes out from under the T-Form and shows about 1-1/2 inches of wire to the amp which is between the driver's seat and the rear seat in the passenger footwell. I have it covered up with the rear floormat which I take off if it gets hot. From the outside? Can't see a thing :p

Message: Yes, just make a small incision with a screwdriver or other implement and run your power wire through the same bundle. Don't make your hole too large or water/condensation will come through. A little silicone never hurt.

Message: I used the same hole as the hood release cable. In general you should stay away from the factory wires - this way you avoid noise and the possiblity accidentaly messin' them up with the screw driver trick.
Take a look at my pictures to see: http://home.mindspring.com/~jntmoore/truck/stereo.html

Message: i did mine basically exactly like pop genie excpet no thunderform and i didn't remove any panels, just used some gentle pushing and tugging. it's really quite easy that way. took me about an hour and it was my first stereo install so i had no idea what i was doing. i could prob do it in 15 minutes now. i was a little wary of poking holes in anything at first as i had only had my dak a week or so and my truck before it was a p.o.s., one of those you can take a hammer to and not notice it but anyway i originally had my power wire ran through the very edge of my hood/front left fender and then in through the door, the door just closed on it, but i eventually decided that it was a bad idea because it looked bad, would let air, water, etc in, and might get chopped in half so i finally gave in and did it right. just my little story.

Message: There is a hole already there on the passenger side.It is to the right of the passenger side, up in the corner. You can see it from the engine, if you look to left corner at an angle near the front tire well. It has a grommet in it but once you pull that out, it is a hole through the firewall. You can run you amp through that hole. I did. It was very easy to do
