Subject: Need an amp, and some wire! IP: Logged
Message: I am planning on throwing a stealthbox in my truck, need a decent amp to power it, like 250w, cause it doesnt handle much, and a wire kit, what's good? Also, whats the best way to wire it up? Running power through firewall, capping it perhaps? and then where to run the rca's from the beck to the back. Thanks!

Message: 8 guage (min) power wire from battery, fused within 18 inches of battery, run through your firewall, 1 farad cap is optional, to your amp. Run these on the drivers side, along with your remote turn on wire.
Same size ground wire, no longer then 2 feet, bolted directly to the metal of your truck.
Run the RCAs on the passenger side, there is plenty of room under the door trim.
I would get a wire kit (8 guage) on ebay, or go to your local stereo shop and buy some. It runs about $1 a foot, RCAs are about $25 up, remote turn on wire is super cheap 12-16 guage.
Check out the Class D amps, there are dozens of them that are rated at 250 watts. They are small and don't require as much power to produce the big bass.
