Subject: Amp Install in RC IP: Logged
Message: Hi all-
I read all the old posts and can't seem to figure out how I am going to install my Eclipse 32440 4 channel amp in my 1997 Dakota Regualar Cab. It definitely won't fit under either bucket seat.
Anyone have pics of where they installed thiers. I've seen Chuck's amp install (intense99dak.com), but I think I want some sort of amp rack or something custom looking. Anyone have any ideas or (especially) pics for me.
Thanks.

Message: you can put it on the rear wall, but make sure you use securing clamps (often come with speakers to secure to the object or the baffle its going on) I will illustrate that if you need. euqnoj@yahoo.com

Message: Get some plywood and glue it moo to the back wall behind the carpeting. Screw your amp into that. That's what i'm going to do with my amp.

Message: Alright cow... why do that... think about it.. just screw into the back wall.. it's not hard buddy... I placed mine on the back wall in the middle below the little hump thing. It gets air from the ports of my two 10 inch subs on either side,... and it also gets air from my a/c outs that are placed above my cd deck. Think about it,... the more the amp can breathe, the more it can pump out juice. My amp is a 400 watt amp... and I've pushed an eclipse speaker that it's min. watt was 650. Either thats an awesome amp...(Optimus), or I just know what to do to make it happy. haha.. try it fellas it works.
Peace out

Message: I would glue the wood behind the carpet just so you don't have to screw holes into sheetmetal.
