Message: They have turned down the DB Mics this year. They
seen that everyone was getting louder last year so they
moved to a differnt mic system its about 6-10 dbs lower
now, makes it easier for people to compete with
eachother more. My two 12" JL Audio W6v2s hit 141.3
with a xtant 1001, I beat a few people, I bet a guy with 2
JL Audio 500/1 on each 15" Kicker LS7s. JL Amps are
only the best on JL Subs. I got second because I went
against a guy who went to nationals twice and he takes
his amps apart and re builds them for more power. He
was a pro, he had to rockford something subs with 2 JL
amps the box was ported of course. I dont like ported
its ok I like drum pedal hits so the only way best is
sealed for that. SPL is always ported or slotted. I would
have gained around 3db per sub if it was ported. Who
has competed.

Message: when you guys post what kind you have, please post what kind of truck you have (single or ext.) and what type of boxes. this makes a good bit of difference and helps us compare to tweak or upgrade systems :)
i have 2 10" ED10O's in a .75cubic feet box, 1 behind each seat of my 98 single cab dakota on a hifonics 1000D at 1ohm. for highs i have a usx 65x4 on mb quart Q series tweets mounted in the pillar, mb quart co axial 6.5, and boston rally series 5.25. i am going prob. next month to get measured at a local bass comp. but i have already outslammed my explorer with 3 12" w3's in a huge box on a jl 500/1 and boston pro series on a 300/4 (badass highs, love em but cost HELLA alot) and another friend who has 2 10" w6v2's on 600w each in a ext. nissan, large box sealed not sure exact size. feels good to out slam people with extended cab trucks, SUVs, and plenty of power with a single cab truck. and the people at the local audio store said i could only fit 8" subs and would sound damn good, but not extremly loud and SQ. i showed them ;)
pics coming soon, whenever i figure out how to fix this damn digital camera!

Message: I personally love the sound of my cut bed. Out of all the systems that I've had, this has been by far the loudest. The only problem is that it does leak. I've almost got it all sealed up but everytime I think it's done, I find another little drip. All and all, I'm not disappointed at all. The sound is excellent and I can put up with the leak. If it comes down to it, I'll just have to break out the welder and start making plans for a wall. LOL

Message: I'm in Kansas now, just moved from Texas. That would be a long drive. I saw the picture of your system, sweet. Did you have all of your inputs plugged in on the amp? I know mine is a lot louder from just adding splitters (bp1200.1). Let me know if you will be competing close to my area. Good Luck.

Message: Keep in mind this is for SQ at high volume, not just for high volume. So it probably isn't even near the biggest system. This is in my '91 Dak.
Pioneer head unit (forget the model # right now, but it's 1-2 yrs old.)
MTX Thunder 564 4-ch amp running the mains
Front speakers are stock, with custom crossovers, and some JL Audio SE-40T tweeters on the dash.
Back speakers are Pioneer 5x7's (again forget the model no.) with custom crossovers.
4- MTX Thunder 6000 12" subs running off two Fosgate 500s amps. (there goes my back seat)
2- Optima red-tops, one under the hood, one in the tool box (so I can listen to it in the parking lot and then still start the engine afterwards)
Just for the fun of it - two BassShakers under the seats running off an old no-name amp. I also put a 15" Legacy sub and another no-name amp in the tool box so I can rattle some of those other cars when I feel the need (usually just before the light turns green, a bit of psycological help for the race).

maybe.... Quit trying to sound cool. In your dreams

Message: I've built a custom box in my regular cab for two 12's. The stereo shops said they couldnt. Anyway, I went cheap with my first amp, running a 1000w boss amp and according to the shop where I got tested hit 131.2db. I guess thats not to bad considering my box has little over 1 cu ft of air with the subs in it. I've upgraded awhile back to a soundstream Rubicon II 500x1 amp and cant wait to see the new db reading. I'm running DSQ 12.4 subs, Ultimate highs, and a 802 deck.
