Message: Your alternator could handle well over 1500 watts without a problem. I have a 500 watt amp and a 300 watt amp along with a 1 farad cap on my truck and the lights don't even dim when I have it cranked up. The alternator and battery are pretty heavy duty on the stock Dakotas.

Message: They come with a 120a alt I believe,
Look at rick mccallum, he runs 2 arc 1500 d-r's and 2 arc 4150's on a 120 amp alt, with a simple 1f cap on each of the 1500 d-r's and no dimming.
If you do have SLIGHT dimming for some reason, you can cheaply fix it, by upgrading the wire under your hood (chassis to battery negative, battery to engine, etc etc etc) to a larger size (for a 500w amp 8awg wire under there would be MORE than enough) and that should fix any SLIGHT dimming.
