Hey I have a 2002 regular cab 4x4 on order. I am also a big fan of the Kicker 10" square solobaric speakers. Does anyone know if these speakers can be put in a box with sufficient air space that will fit behind the seats. If it does work it will be one jam of a stereo.

You would have to move your seat up quite a bit, but I personally think it can be done. I just got my 2002 Dakota Regular Cab last Friday. There isn't a whole lot of room. Those drivers are like 6 inches deep or something, but they don't need that much room at all. They also can handle a LOT of power. Hope you're short.

Have you considered two 8"s to save some space?
The L7 Solos fit in some of the smallest air space
requirements I've every seen... heck the box they
come is almost the right size :o too bad it's only
cardboard ;)

I put one in a wedge box behind my passenger seat, and i am rollin a 01 reg cab sport. It slams, even though i am running only 400w mono to it. I had to sacrifice some seat space, but I am thinking of custom building a tall rectangular box to replace the fat wedge one. I just need time :-).

IM still trying to figure out how to configure my system in my 97 reg. cab. I cant seem to find the right combination and what pisses me off is that it seems my friends S-10 has more room behind the seats from me. Well after thanksgiving im going to build some wedge boxes and try Rockford 12" dvc's. Im also having alot a trouble getting the little seat between my bucket seats out.

Heres what I did w/ my 99 standard cab. I took the truck into a autobody shop and the cut a 30"x14" hole through the cab and the bed. I then took it to my installer and they built the box for my 2 12" solobaric L7's in the bed of the truck. They then sealed off all the edges so it looks professional and like it was meant to be. They then recarpeted my cab wall and of course left cut outs so you ccould see the speakers. Then both of my amps were mounted behind the seats. In order to do this you MUST have a Toneau Cover(mine is fiberglass) of course looking into the bed of the truck you can see the wood from the custom built box, so what I did was took the truck in and had everything in the bed carpeted and now it looks real slick.

kicker 12" solobaric

I have a 99' standard cab dodge dakota and all I have behind my seat right now is a 12" rockford fosgate pushed by a 600 wt legacy. I really like the way a 12" kicker solobaric sounds when being pushed right. Does anybody know anyone who has put one of those behind their seats? If so would you please let me know exactly how it was done, but without major reconstruction. Thanx.

when i had my 98 rc dakota, i had a 10" solobaric l7 behind the pass seat. it fit fine, and with little loss of seat travel. the box is a kicker one, i bieleve the sub and box are a matched pair. it SLAMMED!! its the best 10 i have heard (runnin at 1 ohm pushed by an mtx thunder 6500D)

all i had to do, was re locate the jack to the floor behind my seat. and i had to bend the mounting tabs, that the jack bracket cliped to.
i have since upgraded, in my 00 cc. now I have 2 15" kicker comp VR subs (running at 4 ohms) with the same amp. WOW that moves alot of air!!

just my .02

i had 2 solo-baric L7 10's in my 97 single cab dakota. it slammed but i couldn't get both of them to fit behind my seats with my amp. i have a rockford fosgate punch 700s amp. it would push them hard but they both went out.
now i have 4 Kicker Comp CVR 10's that i brought brand new from a local shop for $426.00. thats only $75 more than one solo-baric L7 10. i find these beat up harder than the L7's. go cheaper and get more. the more inches you got the more the ladies like it.

The guy I work with built a box to go behind the seat of a
regular cab truck. I think it was an S-10, but I'm not sure.
Anyway he has it in the back of his wifes Durango and it has
2 12" Kicker Solobaric's. I am still a little skeptical, but I will see
if I can get some pics of it. It is pretty thin and over stuffed with
polyfil :)

I work at Circuit City and I dont know if you know but we just picked up kicker as one of our brands that we carry. If your looking for a solobaric with a truck box, go to the store b/c we sell a 10" solo baric already in an a truck box enclosure, made espiecially for that sub. Circuit City is the only one that carries the boxes and sub set ups. Just thought you might want to know. I would also say to only use a mono channel amp on that sub, that is 2 ohm stable, and can run at 600 rms.

I'm actually going to be building a custom enclosure for my reg cab. Seat's will be almost all the way back(the head rest will be against the rear wall, at a small lean). I'll have plently of room, will have 2(driver/pass), could probaly fit another if I wanted. Anyways, i'm going to start making the real box soon, just did it with cardboard to make sure it was possible. Where are you from? if your near me, we could work something out. I'm in phx
