Subject: Door Actuators IP: Logged
Message: I bought my dakota without power door locks (impatient). Was wondering if anyone had door lock actuators installed in their vehicle. I had a set installed with my basic DEI alarm. They work great but it seems like the actuators are getting too much power. I can hear them vibrate when they continuously try to 'unlock' too far. If the truck has been started, I park, then shut off the ignition, the vibrating occurs when the door locks unlock. If I don't start it, move the switch forward to accessory, let it lock, then move it back to off, let it unlock a couple of times, the vibrating goes away. I'm assuming because of less power from not starting the vehicle.
Anyway, any help would be awesome. I hope I'm not the only one with this problem.
Thanks,
YJ

Message: You need to set the pulse length from the alarm. Usually there is a short and long pulse option. Mine only get an 1/8 second power blip and they work perfect.

Message: Thanks Joel. Any chance you know how to do that on a DEI alarm? Is it something I can see easily on the brain unit?
Thanks again, bud.
