Message: I've been searching the posts for about an hour and a half looking for the answer to this question. How do you install an amped thunderform with the factory/stock head unit. I know that you have to get a High to Low level converter. But i am unclear if i need to tap into the rear speakers and unclear on how to do that. Anyone who knows anything about this please be kind enough to help out. I would really like to install this thing in the morning. Thank you,
Bob

Message: I just bought the unamped thunderform. But the owners manual is universal. It states you remove the rear speakers and tap into the wires. It also gives you the color codes. But it DOES NOT say whether or not you keep your rear speakers hooked up.

Message: Hey guys, hope I can help. I work in a sound shop here in NC. Anyway, buy a converter like you said (we use the brand Peripheral, works great), tap/splice into the rear speakers for the signal, and run the other qires to the box. Keep your rears hooked up - your only tapping into the rear speaker wires to gain the signal :)
E-mail me with any other Q's - I don't check the boards too often - not enough time! :)

Message: well,
today i installed it. It took me a good 6 hours because i had to figure out where to run the remote wire. To run an amped thunderform: Put in the box. Run a power cable to the battery, run a ground cable, run the remote to the stock head unit, tap into the rear speakers with the hi to low converter and run the rca cables to the amp from it. The only real difficulty is the freaking panels on the truck. That was over half the battle. Questions on how to set it up email me, ill be glad to help.
