Where is everyone placing their amps inside their trucks? I would like to place an amp underneath the passenger side front seat, can this be done? If so, can the seat still move forwards and backwards? Where else is a possibility to place an amp without losing leg room in the back? Thanks for your help.

Yo greg i was thinkin the same thing. Are u running subs? if so are u putting them on the seat anyways?? What i did was mount the amp behind the drivers seat. My Earthquake amp would just fit under the seat but im a bit weary of it getting scratched. IF the subs are on the back seat no one can sit there anyways. besides if i push the box to one side i have room for one. Not that more then 1 could fit back there anyway lol

I have a rockford 600a4. I had to raise the rear of the seat about an inch and a half for clearance. I have the amp under the drivers seat.

I don't have a sub yet, but I went to a stereo shop here where I live and he said he could build a custom box to go in the tool tray underneath the rear seat to house a Kicker Solo-Baric 8".

I put my Orion 500.5 amp on the back wall behind the passenger seat. This thing was too much of a monster in size to put it under the seats.

I just put in two amps this weekend, one under each seat. One was a small sub amp which fit easily under the drivers side. The other was a medium size, Kenwood 648S, under the passenger. I removed the 8 bolts and lifted the seat up and pushed it out of the way for both sides, had to do this myself. If I had another set of hands it would have been much easier. I test fitted each amp before mounting them. I still got full use of both seat but my amps arent that big. It was easier than I thought. Good luck with your install.

I have a regular cab with two amps laying flat behind the drivers seat and a 8" Subwoofer Truck box behind the passenger seat. I'm going to build an amp rack with 2 fans one sucking air in and one blowing air out. I'm still in the planning stage but I plan to finish it this weekend. Having the seat to far forward isn't to confortable to drive especially when you have a stick.

I have amps mounted under both of my seats. My driver seat is a power seat, so I have to be very careful and the amps is only partly under the seat, the rest sticks out behind the seat. Under my passenger seat is my Alpine V12 amp that drives my front and rear speakers. It fits under there ok, but you have to be careful when moving the seat a lot. There really is no better place unless you want to lose the use of your rear seats. I have a MTX thunderform under my rear seat that I fitted with Polk Momo 10's. I run Polk Momo components all around and the combos is the best I have heard in any truck. I have an MTX crossover mounted in the glove compartment and the MTX remote bass control mounted in the ash tray. I do not have any storage room in teh truck anymore, but my system is just awesome!

I personnaly like to beable to mount my amps under my seats.. added security.. Esspecially for my system.. it dosnt come around very cheaply.. all i have to do is raise the seat a little bit in my truck to get it under there.. and also remember some amps require a distance of free air to move around for cooling so make sure your not to close to the seat.. Unless your going to wire a little fan near your amp..
