Can anyone tell me how to set the frequency step on a stupid xplod cdx-mp80 so that I can tune into EU frequencies. e.g FM100.2, Sony won't help. A$$holes! This device is nearly as $hit as their digital cameras! What a frigging waste of money. You normally get what you pay for, but with Sony it's much less. Never again a Sony.

Let´s start with the sony headunits: I´ve had 3 and my latest is cdx 630 and after 7 months of constant use it has never broken down even the motorized facplate still works fine. I´ve never heard a headunit that has such powerful amplifyer, not pioneer, not that Alpine... ap, or kenwood. Despite the fact it is much more beautiful than all the other brands I´ve seen. Lets not even start with the old Es series wich has still today had no competition what so ever - where is pioneer, kenwood, alpine, eclipse? They are in the cars of little boys with big bass systems where you need no sound qualety what so ever because you are allready dumb like after a lobotomy. It is right though and I admit that the latest Xplod stuff especially the headunits, lack the tuch of old sony. But like someone said here it is all the same crap - just different kind of crap. But my expirence with sony has been flawless so of course I recommend it.

i have had a sony cdxmp30 mp3 cd-head unit for about 2? years, and have had no problems with it whatsoever. it does its job, and works fine with my new rockford amp (201s) and sub (8" he2). perhaps pioneer is a little better than sony in head units, but i dont think its fair to say that sony as a whole "sucks"; they obviously have a lot of die-hard fans that stick to them and buy their product.

pst, do you expect a head unit to break down in 7 months time? Your third sony eh? Is there a pattern here? I'm just kidding. I don't care for sony because of past experience and from reading the specs on their new stuff. I'm sure for some people they are fine or even great but they tend to break down more than other brands.

hey guys. the new heads seem nice, dont know how they work tho...
i will say i had 2 explode 12 and i wasnt happy with them. and their coaxils dont seem to swift either, but hey, if they work for you, keep buyin em

Sony does have die hard fans. So does Bose. It's all about marketing. Once upon a time these companies offered cutting edge products. That is simply not the case anymore. For the price you can do much better then sony, and don't even get me started on bose.
