Got the new 400 watt amp instaled a while back and the kenwood deck but now im having trouble playing music up loud. The deck just cuts in and out during songs with the bass up turn it down and it plays all day long any ideas. A friend said a Cap would clear up the problem but im not to sure what that means?

I dont think a capacitor will help you with that problem, what will help is if you put a tail strap on your head unit. On most kenwoods there is a small screw in the back mounted to the antenna reciever. just attach one end of the metal strap to that and find a location behind your dash to attach the other end. just make sure that the deck is level before you screw it in. this should prevent it from moving up and down and making your music skip.

Is the unit shaking hard when you hit the bass? or is the voltage dropping below 11 volts when your bass hits? The cap may prevent problem #2 and problem #1 should also show up when you hit a ruff road. Give us more details.

I agree with R/Truck, it's either skipping from the bass (vibration) and needs more support OR it's dropping out from lack of power (volts).

You could also be overloading the amp with too much signal level - do you have an EQ or crossover with the gains boosted really high? Last possiblity... dirty CD - I've got one CDs that skips all the time due to some scratches :(
