Message: I've searched the forums---and I can't find a specific place to purchase RAAMat Sound Dampening Material. Is this stuff worth getting? I will be putting in my thunderform this weekend and it would be nice to go ahead and dampen the dak. I thought about just getting dynamat---but the cost is horrible. Any suggestions?

Message: I installed Raamat in my interior and I love it. It's very easy to lay down, molds very well and is incredible sticky. You can contact Rick at Raam Audio at raam@raamaudio.com
Also do a search on eBay for it as that's where he sells the majority of it. I bought 62.5 square feet (if I remember correctly) for $99 plus shipping.
Here's what it looks like installed ...

Message: pondhopr,
I didn't have enough in the roll to do all the doors, but I did do the inside of the driver's side door. I also did a few pieces around the speakers on the passenger side door just to help with vibrations. I'm planning on picking up another roll later this summer so I can finish the doors in the Dak and do the doors in our Ram.
If you want to do the floor, back wall and doors you'll need two rolls. And if you get the two rolls you'll have enough to do a couple layres in places which will help even more with sound.
dodgeee-O,
Yes, I noticed a huge difference in road noise as well as interior resonance from my Flowmaster 50 series. I was surprised a little because the doors weren't completed, but the difference was definitely noticeable. I can't wait to get the doors done as that should make a substantial difference as well.

Message: Yeah and Rick is a great guy (his truck was the truck of a GOD, but he don't have that anymore since he got his new Matrix)
I just bought his arc crossover from him, you won't have any troubles dealin with him or anything, and you'll definitely get your money's worth. MUCH more cost effective than dynamat..

You can have everything out in a regular cab by noon using few tools. This includes the seats, floor console, kick panels, rocker panels, B-pillar covers, back cab wall and carpet.
I forget exactly what size tools you'll need, but the most "specialized" is a #47 torx bit for the seatbelt retractors.
I'm currently working on a page that details removing of interior panels/parts. Hopefully I'll have it up later today.

Message: I think you guys could get away with doing an entire RC or CC with a single roll of 100 sq ft. material. Rather than do the floors with the dynamat, use the dense carpet padding underneath your carpet(highly effective) and you'll have plenty to do the walls, doors and even roof if you like.
I've got a 100 sq ft roll here to prove it myself(Dynamat extreme copy, $130 on Ebay), but other mods will get my attention first. Perhaps in a few weeks we'll take the interior back out of it

A 100 sq. ft. roll would definitely without a doubt do a regular cab interior including floor, back wall and both sides of the doors. I used a 62 sq. ft. roll on mine and was basically one door shy of completing.
As for using the stock floor padding, yes it does help out. But once you add the Raammat or Dynamat you'll see a difference in road noise. The stock padding does not completely cover the floor and there's quite a few open areas where there's no padding.

Message: When i email rick a while back he told me to use a closed cell foam such as 1/8 or 1/4" Insulite foam over top of the raamat to help with road noise. I don't have a clue where i could find this or a product like this. Any suggestions? Thanks.

You might be able to find it in a fabric or crafts store. I would think the fabric store would be the better bet.
