Message: It can be done, but with a 6.5" speaker in there you can kiss your foot room goodbye. Want to use that parking brake, forget about it.
I built a set in my truck with 4" mid and 1" tweet (put the 6.5" in the door) and it just barely gives me enough footroom to be comfortable.
I can email you some basic instructions that I got off the internet if you would like. Custom kickpanels are very time consuming to build, so most shops will charge $300-600 for them.

Message: it's easier than you would think.
remove your old lick pannels, cleanand scuff them with 60 - 40 gritt sandpaper
get hold of some fiberglass matting, resin, a couple of cheap paint brushes bondo, MDF, sandpaper, a wood stapler, a coarse rasp, and an old t shirt, with no holes or logos on it.
cut some rings out of the MDF for the speakers, and build a couple of standoff's for the speaker rings- aiming the speakers to the opposite passenger. Once your happy with that, wrap the rings withe t-shirt and pull it tight to your kick pannel and stapple it in place. Get out the resin and apply it right on the t-shirt. using a piant brush. let it harden, and apply a layer of mat and resin over that. You should have a pretty soild cover now and can begin to shape it a little bit more with some bondo -USE THIN LAYERS!!!!!!!!!!.
sand it up, prime it, paint it, done.
i wouldn't recommend anyone who has little fiberglass experince doing this.

Message: just went and looked at the link pappie provided
that's more or less it- i use the t-shirt because it'll hold more resin, and requre less matting, saving you time an mat'l. -and i don't bother making a sealed enclosure, (the botton half) for high's and high mids it doesn't really need to be sealed, you'll gain only slight performance if any as most mids and higher aren't designed to be in a sealed enclosure, besides it's a lot more work to make it.
Your doors aren't sealed are they???
Outherwise thast link is right on the money, a little bondo, and 600 grit paper, you could paint it as well.

Message: t- shirts sag alot more than pantyhose so it needs to be really tight. also the bottom half is really there 2 folds; to mount the rings on to and to get a really good image of what space you got to work with. I will agree, you really dont need it sealed unless your doing something silly like mid bass drivers
I really wouldn't suggest fiberglassing to the plastic kick panel. plastic is alot more bendable than fiberglass and youll end up having your work just cracking right off UNLESS you incase the whole darn plastic kickpanel in fiberglass...... but thats just plain messy.
Wouldn't use Bondo if your planing on covering you new work. Glue has adverse effects with Bondo and makes it soft. Instead chop up some fiberglass mat and mix it in resin... Wala....fiberglass filler. You can also buy it in a can but...... that would be too easy
One last thing, If you can get ahold of acual woven cloth fiberglass like 180 boxweave..... life is soo much easier. but good luck. Lucky for me, my shop has woven cloth by the truckload and we are funded by the military ($250 toilet seat theory)
and all this I found out the hard way

Message: You can get fiberglass putty, works like bondo and glue will stick to it.
There are endless ways to work with fiberglass you just have to roll up your sleeves and play with it. You will figure it all out by experience and mistakes. The good thing is you can't screw up fiberglass to much, unless you spill it all over your seats and carpet.

Message: Dave the Q-forms are not available for the newest dakotas. And they are cheap thin plastic no sealed vibrating pieces of junk.
O.k. I feel better now.
