Subject: Quad cab sub idea IP: Logged
Message: has anyone tried or know if it is possible to cut out the raised section under the seats of a quad cab and drop subs in underneath the rear seat? I got the idea the other day but havent had time to see if it is possible.

Message: I'm not so sure about cutting those out, you still may not be able to get enough depth below the seats for most subs (i'm assuming you're going to have them firing towards the roof). In my 94 quad cab, i simply removed the smaller section of the two flip-up rear seats and my 12" fit perfectly there. If you want to put the box behind the driver's seat (I believe the usual configuration has the small seat on the passenger side), I also removed both seats, and reattached the bigger seat on the passenger side. The mounting brackets are designed so they can be moved from side to side.

Message: Anything is possible, there is a HUGE Toyota Tundra running around here with a plexiglass and fiberglass or steel(not sure exactly) enclosure UNDER the rear seats, where your feet would be actually , you really don`t even see it from the outside unless you know about it already. I saw it at the Daytona Trux pro show , and a friend of mine pointed it out to me!I`m sure you could do something like it in our Dakotas ,I`m just not sure I have the kahonas to cut out the floor on my new truck(OUCH)!Sure would be sweet though!

Message: looked under my '00 quad, and the frame actually comes up into that raised area, so unless you got a way to cut the frame and not watch your dak fold in half, I think you are sol on that one buddy?
