Message: when i was running the hot wire for my amp, i somehow managed to pop the rubber seal thing, i think it's the one that all the main wires go through, to the left of the brake pedal, not far from the emergency brake, out towards the engine. it feels to be about a 2-3 inch hole, has a plastice ring around it with a lip that i can't really get my fingers in. i can wrestle it most of the way back in but never far enough to pull it on through it seems. it's turned sideways perpendicular to the firewall when i can get it almost back through. since i can't really see any of it i can't tell what's going on other than by feel. can any of you guys tell me how to pop it back in towards the cab so i can restore that? it being out lets some of my engine noise through, not a lot, just a rumbling when i start up or am going slow, but i'd rather not hear it. any help would be GREATLY appreciated. btw, i have a 99 extended cab dakota, 3.9 v6 if that makes any difference in knowing about this particular seal.

Message: First off make sure you can mount the amp in a secure area and it is not touching metal.
Run a 4 or 8 guage wire from you positive battery terminal to the amp with an inline fuse right after the battery. Do this on the drivers side.
Run your ground wire from the amp directly to the an uppainted part of your metal frame, using a self-tapping screw or bolt and a star washer.
Run a pair of RCA cables on the passenger side of the truck from the head unit to your amp.
Run a remote turn on wire from the back of the head unit (blue wire or power antenna wire) to the amp.
The connect your speaker wires to the amp.
Set the gain on the amp by first turning up your head unit to 80% volume and then adjust the gain until speakers start to distort. Then back your headunit volume down.
Most amplifiers have good instructions to follow.
You can get all the wires needed if you buy an installation kit for an amplifier. They are available just about everywhere.
hope this is plain enough english.

Message: my names peter it Jan 15th i think its 1:06 am everyday since 2 days before x mas i have been trying to install a amp and two subs in my girl griends truck. so now the problem. i ran a 4 gage wire form the positive side of the baterry to the amp, i then had some guy at audio concepts run the remote wire for me to the amp. i then hooked up a ground wire to a unpainted screw that is on metal. sounds good so far rt. the problom i ran in to is that i was dealing with a stock headunit. and the person at the audio store told me that i was going to have to splice my speaker wires and run them to this little black box. i did so and returned the next day to that guy and showed him and he said it looked good but that now from the other side of that black box was a rca hook and i would have to run the rca cabels from that to my amp so i did and and today is when i did that. but now when i went to go turn on the ride it did not want to turn on the radio and lights work but it wont start. and the amp lights up but the little green light only poped on once and since has not turned back on the amp stay lit on the inside (cuz its see threw and a light on the inside comes) but the one on the outside doesnt ive check all the fuses and repared a blown one on the amp and with the new fuse in i turned the ride on again and it blew the 30 watt fuse again so i replaced and reinstalled the wires again so nothing was lose or hanging and i tried to to turn the ride on again and still the ride didnt start and the subs did not work. everything is new. amp subs wire everything i even took the subs out of the box to see if they were disconect and they were not at the end i checked all the fuses i could and nothing worked someone anyone please help. i have the money to get it professionaly done but i hooked up my explorer and its frusterating me that i cant hook up my girls. thanks
my email is svspeteypab@aol.com or lilhurcules@hotmail.com thanks
