Subject: Adding Amp to Factory Stereo IP: Logged
Message: I just installed an MTX 4202 amp with teh MTX thunderforms. I spliced into the rear speakers to give the amp a high level input. When I power up the factory head unit, the fromt speakers and tweeters in the door come on, but the rears don't come on, subsequently the amp won't power on. If i unplug the high level input from the amp and then plug it back in, the rears and the amp come on. What gives? Is the factory amp sensing a problem? I check all the wiring and it's all correct. HELP!

Message: Did you wire the remote turn on for the amp? This is a 12v signal to tell the amp to turn on? usually off the deck but you can wire it to your fuse box too.
Is you amp properly grounded?

Message: The amp has an auto-turn on circuit when it senses any input from the stereo, and yes the amp is properly grounded. The amp does turn on and the sub's work great if i unplug and replug the high level inputs at the amp
