Message: I have a 2002 Dakota Club Cab and I was curious if anyone had any pervious ideas how to put in a system yet still keep the truck looking mostly stock. I was toying with the idea to putting two 10" subs with amp and two 4"/two 1" speakers in the front with two 5 1/4" / two 1" speakers in the back with another amp for the 8 speakers. Has Anyone tried to put subs under the little rear seats? And, if so did they sound good? Or, is it better to make a molded box for in the rear? (I just don't want to lose to much room.) If anyone had done this or if anyone has any good ideas please respond. If you have any pictures of your system please send them to erictennis24@aol.com.
Thank You,
Eric

Message: In response to the question: 4" speakers up front? Why?
I have only had my truck for about a month and I have not really looked to much into what the stock system has, but all of the speakers and amps that I have came out of my old truck and the system sounded great in there. I am just trying to adapt what I have into my current vehicle.
Plus if I have the two 10" subs for the bass the 4" speakers seemed to compliment the higher pitch sounds pretty well.

Message: So your taking your old system and installing it into the Dakota? I guess you can try it first but the 6.75" front speaker might perform a little better. I know it my truck the subs are playing at 50 or 60hz and down, and the mids up front are handling some pretty low midbass. When I turn the crossover up on the subs (to relieve the bass of the mids) it doesn't sound very good. So 4" mids up front may have a hard time.
You have a CC so you need to check out the MTX thunderform (I think it may fit). It installs under your rear seats with 2-10" subs and doesn't take away from you using your back seats.
