Subject: Club Cab models??? IP: Logged
Message: I can't get an idea of how to put bass in my Club Cab Dakota,
It's a 2000 SLT.
I got the Electrical motor underneath the driver side seat so
there is no room under that seat.
What I wanted to do was put some bass inside the cab and I
went to a couple of shops and they told me, there isn't much
They can do, either put a bass speaker on top of the seat or
have the seat up and put the bass speaker there.
Any suggestion on how to get around this?
I dont want it to look gettho, and I still want to have people
be able to sit back there.

Message: I have an 04 club cab (2x4, automatic), and just finished
installing an enclosure that fits into the gap of the center
console. It measures a bit funky, but works really well. 12" X
12" on the rear side, and 7" x 7" in the front, so it kinda
slopes/angles down toward the front with a 10" sub facing the
rear seats. If I remember right (I actually cut the box months
ago), it measures 20" long.
When I took out the center console, I found some wires running
across from one seat to the other. There is a section of carpet
that pulled up and there is some kind of adaptor (not sure what
for, maybe manual trans or 4x4, i dont know) but it supplys 12v
power. I also located wires for the right rear speaker running
across that path, so I tapped in the feed for my speakers there.
Im using some old 100w amp I found in the garage. Tapped the
12v tapped the speaker wire and ta-da.
the base of the speaker box bolts into the same brackets the
console used to fit in, spray painted it dark grey (to match my
seats) and got myself a good looking/sounding box. Bass is
awesome.

Message: Not a bad idea. That's sounds like it will look good.
I like the cup holders though and the compartment cause I
have alot of sh*t in there, I would like 2 bass speakers
though. More louder! Lol
Actually I was thinking I could maybe get rid of the plastic
under the seats in the rear, and put a box under there and
have the seat on top of the box but would I have enough
clearance to fit 2 10's in there? Or should I get rid of the
seats and just have the box with the bass speakers facing
forward and be in between the persons legs when they sit
back there and have the seat belts on top of the box...or i can
have the seats bolted on the box having them be a tad
higher, and have my amp inside the panel right below the
driver rear speaker side. So many options but I don't know
what would be best...

Message: Loaded a box under my rear seats, 2 kicker 12" with a
kenwood amplifier. Bumps nice. Just wish I could contain the
sound more.
