Message: There's no easy way to fit 12's in a quad cab with out removing seats for the space they need. but here's a question. If i hook up 2 or maybe 3 8" subwoofers, will it sound anything like a 12" sub?

Message: I have some shallow mount subs that I used to have behind the back seats. If you move the seat forward about 1" you can get more air space and they should sound pretty nice. They are Blaupunkt 12". Im trying to sell them if you are interested, $110 shipped. But for your actual question, my opinion is that 8's will sound like 8's. They will be moslty for sound quality. I doubt they will pound that hard but i could be wrong. It also depends on what kind of 8's. I know Kicker makes some that might be pretty sweet.

Message: Shallowmount is the craze now. JL actually makes a 13 with a 2.5 inch mounting depth that's shallower than my pioneer premier 10, I think only needs about .8 cubic feet, and is supposed to sound as good as any convenitonal comparably sized woofer. Look into 12 inch shallowmounts, you may have more options than you think.
