Message: Hey Guys,
I blew my stock infinity tweeters and was wondering if i could disconnect them myself. Is the paneling hard to take off, and can I get some quick directions if it is possible for me to do. Thanks for the help!

Message: Lower the windows first. Remove the 2 screws at the very bottom of the door, the one up in the sail panel at top left corner of the passenger door and top right of driver door, remove the bolt holding in the door open handle if yours has one, otherwise on a later model just pull out the little trim cover in the door handle pull cup area and take out the screw behind it. Then take out the one in the pull area of the arm rest. Lift straight up if a later model truck or pull out to release the snap-in fasteners on an older model. Then you can just unplug the tweeters' wires to disconnect.

Message: Thanks man. I have a 2000, I don't know if thats considered a later model or not, but that definately helps. I had four new infinity 6505's dynomatted into my doors, hopefully they wont be in the way. On other question, did the Infinity sound system come with a factory amp, or was it wired just to the head unit? I don't know because Best Buy has installed all my audio.

Message: I guess by saying later model I meant any truck made after 2000. The only thing I didn't mention before because I didn't know what year you had is to lift up on the door opener handle and look back toward the hinge for it and you'll see a 10mm bolt to remove it. Then just follow the other directions. I think the 2000 panels had the plastic Christmas tree type fastener pins on the back side of the door panels and the door panels pulled straight out to remove. Pull back a corner and see what you have before pulling too hard to remove it. You might even be able just to pull back on the upper corners enough to get your hand in there to disconnect the tweeters.
Yes your Dak has the factory Infinity amp. It's in the passenger's kick panel. It runs about 80 watts total, 20 watts x 4 channels. If you have an aftermarket deck, Best Buy very likely did interface the deck to the factory amp. Usually sounds good that way but the volume is very loud without turning the knob very much.
