Message: i have a quad cab and it was kind of a bitch to get subs that would actually sound good in. i was only able to fit 12 x 15 x 8 x 5(slanted) boxes. and i actually had to remove the carpet behind the back seats. with those boxes you only get around .6 cubic feet. so you need subs that are made for small perimeter boxes. i went with 10" dual ohm from image dynamics and they sound clean. the rms is low too so you won't need a big amp.

Message: also you will have to sacrifice your seats folding up to do it this way.

I am about to build it this week and will have more pics up later. The only thing i changed was the port is now facing the back instead of up.

Message: I got one pioneer premier shallow-mount 10 in a custom box behind the longer part of the folding rear seat. You'll probably need a shallow-mount design sub that doesn't need a big mounting depth. I know it can be done for 1 ten without modifying your seat, you only loose the ability to fold. 2 10s are very possible, 12s are iffy and may not get the air space they need with such a small bux.
Mine is a custom built MDF enclosure.

Message: Thats actually where i got my idea from. i just didnt want the subs up cuz people jack that stuff all the time. And i cant tint dark, law is only 15%. How did you get them to fit? Im running into some problems with the bolts for the seat backs. They are hitting my box and i cant get it back far enough. Did you use fiberglass for the sides or MDF?

Message: i'm not worried bout getting jacked u can't just pick the box up it's wedged in there with all the other pieces ie amps and battery cover u would have to undo and unscrew everything to get em out. also if u can run with over 50+ lbs in your arms in a big box then u derserve em, lol. as long as one can out run a .45. my window tint was calculated when i got pulled over 4% in the front and 1% in the back. u talking bout the back bolds where the origional 60 bench seat it, i grinded em off. i used Mdf, cause i was going for that semi stock looking look, not the obvious that that don't belong there look. i have had one person ask if the system in the back was an option package.

Message: Hey ADKwitDAK, I also have a 2002 QC and I am wondering if you could tell me how you created all that space in the middle of the seats? Is it a tough process? Do you think you could tell me some of the directions? Thanks.

Message: I have an 08 quad cab. Not wanting to compromise my seats
in any way. I have considered cutting a hole in the rear door
map pockets and going with shallow 8" woofers w/ foam
cones glued to the back. Since an 8 is more woof then sub
punch I think it will work. Just need to figure how to cover
the open top of the map pocket so it doesn't look amateur.

Message: well i have 4 tens in a custom box where the largest back seat was sitting. 60/40 split you know. subs are facing forward. plenty of room in the rear that way. i tried finding a slim enough box to fit behind the seats but nothing would fit with out the subs hitting the seat. hope this helps
