Message: I just put two 12's in my 02 reg cab. they sound nice! they have
better quality than what i've heard from some of the other shallow
mounts. volume-wise, they get pretty loud, especially in that tiny
cab. i would recommend them with no doubt in my mind

Message: The Pioneer shallow-mount subs have pretty good sound quality -- just don't expect a lot of SPL out of them. They work in extremely small boxes (if I remember right, the 10" will work in a .4 cubic foot box, hardly any bigger than the woofer -- check out the Pioneer website for exact enclosure sizes). I'm planning on making a custom box to fit behind the front driver's seat on the floor of my Quad Cab.
