Subject: Big System/Need Power IP: Logged
Message: Hi,
I'm new to the forums, but it seems like there's a lot of good information and very helpful people here so why ask anywhere else. I recently put a large system in my 98 dakota extended cab. I installed a Kenwood touch screen DVD player w/ Garmin navagation and Sirius satellite radio. I put new componets in the doors and the back. The big par is i'm running 2 15" MA Audio HardKore woofers and a HK4000d amplifier pushing whats supposed to be 4000rms. I know i'm not because my cap has a voltage and amperage meter and the amp is supposed to draw over 400amps at times and I rarely see 300. I have a Kinetik 2400 in addition to my stock battery and a 12farad capacitor. I'm thinking of getting a 16v kinetik to go w/ my system to up the voltage, but I don't know that it will be enough. I intend to do the big 3 this weekend w/ some leftover 0gauge, but does anybody know where I can get a single alternator to power all of this. The amp is unregulated and is rated at 4000w rms at 17.7v. How can I acheive this voltage? Any help would be great. Sry for the long post. I just figured i would get as much detail in as possible so i don't have to post info later.
