Subject: Can You Bridge an alpine deck? IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys, I'm getting some new speakers for my truck and i'll be powering the front speakers and sub with an amp and so instead of buying 2 amps I was wondering if anyone had bridged the 4 wires from your deck to the 2 rear speakers?

Message: I doubt that would work. You most likely would not get any output from the deck. It would be better to just use the 2 rear outputs from the Alpine to your rear speakers. That way the fader would still operate and there would be less chance of internal damage to the Apline unit.

Message: no you cant.....run your fronts with the deck, there usually a smaller speaker than the backs, run your backs and sub off your amp, does your deck have a seperate pre-amp for the sub? if it does use it, your sound quality will pay off if you run two sets of rca wires to the amp
